**About the role**:
The level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship offers practical knowledge and skills from planning and organising to record keeping and quality control, providing a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours, gained from working across an organisation and its processes.

Buxton and Leek College are offering an exciting opportunity to complete this apprenticeship working primarily within their student-led Hair & Beauty Salon, and new Harpurs Bistro.

During the apprenticeship, you will develop your skills in IT, decision making, interpersonal skills, communications, record and document production, planning and organisation, and project management. These key skills and behaviours will support your own progression towards management responsibilities.

Your key duties will include managing bookings and customer queries and social media accounts, as well as overseeing logístical tasks such as ordering and checking stock. You will also provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients in both settings.

Your responsibilities as part of this role will prepare you to complete your End Point Assessment (EPA) - the final assessment process at the end of your apprenticeship.

**Principal accountabilities**:

- Support and process bookings via telephone/in person using the required system.
- Support and maintain records (eg: Excel, Office 365 programmes).
- Support with finance reporting and records, as well as stock control and monitoring.
- Support meetings including note taking and hospitality requirements and maintaining of attendee details.
- Support employer events as required.
- Support and arrange the distribution of stock items to other sites as required.
- Manage and arrange the distribution of student lockers and keys ensuring control is retained at all times.
- Complete safeguarding training and follow the Colleges policy.
- Any other duties commensurate to the role.

**Qualifications**:

- GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4

**Experience**:

- Experience of organising events/activities
- Experience of note taking and creating actions with agreed timescales
- Experience of working as part of a team and dealing with customers

**Skills, knowledge & abilities**:

- Confident in a team environment and able to engage others
- Good communication skills
- Confident in developing internal and external professional relationships
- Able to articulate and produce written communications that are well structured
- Extremely organised and with excellent time management
- Have a methodical work approach/eye for detail and the ability to set high standards for self and others
- Confident in the use of MS Office and all associated database/software functions

**Business requirements**:

- Completed DBS check with child barred list
- Willingness to work flexibly and be responsive to business needs and customer expectations
- Willingness to positively respond to change and learn new challenges
- Ability to undertake occasional late/evening/weekend work at busy times
