- Costs relating to attendance to other sites and can be expensed.
- No current management responsibility, albeit this may develop in the role in the future. You would be given full resource and support to ensure a smooth transition into this undertaking.

**Job Purpose**

We recognise the onus on us to efficiently manage and reduce the impact that our activities as a public corporation leader, and as a regulator, have on the environment.

The Sustainability Manager will be given a supportive environment to own the autonomy over decisions and overall organisational strategy with the aim of reducing our consumption of resources. Analysing the most at risk of causing harm towards the environments,against consumption rates.

By reducing our consumption of resources, using those we must consume more efficiently, and where possible, balancing unavoidable emissions, we are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations.

**Principle Responsibilities**
- Drive the development and delivery of our sustainability agenda, in line with our Strategy 2020-2025 ambition and broader government objectives for net zero.
- Lead work on the development, implementation and maintenance of our environmental protection and sustainability processes, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and the requirements of applicable international standards.
- Report on our sustainability performance, in accordance with the requirements of HM Treasury’s Government Financial Reporting Manual.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, in particular the Estates Team, Procurement and IT to deliver sustainability improvement actions/ initiatives.
- Proactively raise awareness of sustainability throughout the organisation and promote best practices.
- Support the Compliance Manager in matters relating to our legal compliance with respect to environmental protection and sustainability, as required.

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- A sound understanding of the environmental and sustainability legislation which pertain to public bodies in the UK, as well as an in-depth knowledge of developments in the UK’s sustainability and climate change agenda.
- Experience of implementing, developing and continually improving environmental management systems.
- Demonstrable experience of liaising, negotiating and influencing at a senior management level to further our sustainability agenda.
- Demonstrable experience in collating, utilising and reporting on complex information and in setting and monitoring key milestones and performance indicators.
