**£33,000 to £35,500 per annum**

**Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)**

**Hybrid working with regular travel to our London Bridge Office**

**What the job involves**

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Data and Evidence team within our Support and Influencing Directorate. The team is critical to developing the robust evidence base that underpins our work at Prostate Cancer UK to drive improvements for men with or at risk of prostate cancer. Their activity feeds into major decisions about the specific improvements and changes that men need, and where we target our resources to have most impact. The team analyses and interprets various data sources to identify trends in prostate cancer and conducts epidemiological research to fill in evidence gaps, often publishing their findings to ensure clinical stakeholder adoption.

The Senior Data and Evidence Officer is critical to developing the evidence that underpins our work.

You will support the delivery of our Clinical Data Strategy and ensure our work is backed by sound scientific and clinical evidence from the latest advancements in prostate cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care.

You will lead on the design of research studies and analyse existing research and data. This use of real-world data will help to create a wider knowledge base and help guide the organisation on its use of this evidence. As a Senior Data & Evidence Officer, you will be able to work across the directorate and wider charity to ensure that we are fully informed about recent or expected developments in research and clinical practice.

**What we want from you**

Your previous experience in the science or health sector will be combined with the ability to collate evidence from a wide range of sources, conduct independent research and translate this research into everyday language.

You will be able to confidently work with other teams, sourcing them the evidence that shapes their projects and ensuring that the policies, information, and communications the organisation develops are evidence-led. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills enable you to explain complex clinical information in a way that is easily understood.

**Why work with us?**

Every man needs to know about the most common cancer in men - prostate cancer. It’s a real and present danger that takes over 12,000 of our dads, grandads, brothers and friends each year.

Prostate Cancer UK is the largest men’s health charity in the UK. We have a simple ambition - to stop prostate cancer damaging lives. We invest millions in research to revolutionise testing, treatment and care. We’re blazing a trail to a screening programme that could save thousands of lives with regular, accurate tests for all men at risk. And we work tirelessly to spread the word about men at risk and offer specialist support to people living with the disease.

Work with us and you’ll see your efforts pay off as we give men and their families the power to navigate prostate cancer.

**What we offer**

Join our team and be part of an award-winning charity. We’ll support you to develop your skills and expertise.

We offer a competitive benefits package, including:

- Generous leave entitlements that increase with service
- One ‘development day’ a month to use for training or personal development
- Enhanced contributory pension scheme
- Life insurance and group income protection
- Health Cash Plan
- Life and wellbeing advice and support via our Employee Assistance Programme
- Discounted gym membership and high street shopping discounts
- Loans for season tickets or cycles

We’ve recently launched three new People Networks - Pride (for LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies), Mind & Body (physical and mental wellbeing), and our Multicultural network. Sponsored by our Leadership team, our networks provide a safe, supportive peer group to share experiences and offer support, raise awareness of the history and ongoing experiences of each community, start conversations with colleagues across the organisation, and contribute to our policy development and review.

**Hybrid working**

Our hybrid working approach combines the best of flexible working - a positive work/life balance, online information at your fingertips - and the best of vibrant office life - relationship building, collaboration and social time. Each team has a team agreement that sets out generally when and how often they’re expected to be in our London Bridge office. You’re very welcome to work in the office more frequently, if it suits you.

Office time is usually to collaborate with colleagues (this is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs to the office). The frequency may vary over the year and is dependent on the needs of the role and the organisation.

**Our commitment**

We’re an organisation committed to anti-racism, equality, diversity and
