Principal UX Writer

We’re looking for a Principal UX Writer to help one of our clients, a global insurance company, set the content foundations for a new digital service. This is initially a 3-month contract starting ASAP, with a chance of being renewed. This role is offered INSIDE IR35 only and you must be able in close proximity to London.

**Key skills and experience***:

- You have been writing for customer
- and user-led experiences for a few years, for products and services at various stages of development, and have some great examples to show - this might be from the web, apps, chatbots, voice UI or console.
- You have experience of working in a multidisciplinary context, explaining your approach and your thinking with confidence, and liaising with designers and/or engineers to write and review copy in context.
- You understand where client marketing, legal or tech will need to be involved in the work you produce.
- You have extensive experience working with different groups of stakeholders in large organisations, providing clarity on what's asked of them, and managing their expectations proactively.
- You have a fair understanding of SEO and accessibility.
- You have worked with user researchers and/or have experience of incorporating research findings or customer data into your work.
- You can prototype your content ideas and have experience working directly within design software (for example Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision).

**Project needs**:
Our client is setting the foundations for a new digital service. Content is essential to deliver this proposition, and ensure customers receive actionable and specific support and insights. As a principal UX writer you will be comfortable operating autonomously in a complex organisation across different geographies and timezones.

The Principal UX writer will be in charge of:

- Content development and editing
- UX writing for digital journeys
- Content coordination and stakeholder management

**Activities**:
**Content development and editing**
- Be in charge of content development across different types and formats, from editorial and long-form content to interaction microcopy, to support customers throughout their journeys.
- Understand which existing content could or should be reused and repurposed.
- Pair-write with experts to produce clear and compelling content that can be technical in nature.

**UX writing for dynamic digital journeys**
- Provide content expertise and best practice by advising on which type of content will best support customers at each point of the journey.
- Create effective and engaging content (copy, microcopy, labels, alternative text, error messages and notifications) to support customer journeys that are dynamically generated according to different business rules.
- Ensure that content is considered from the beginning and that stakeholders are engaged throughout its development.

**Content coordination and stakeholder management**
- Work with the different business units to understand context and the compliance and regulatory frameworks that apply.
- Create a content backlog and prioritise tasks against project milestones.
- Track and communicate risks and issues throughout the project.

- The start date of this contract is ASAP
- The initial duration of this contract is 3 months.
- You will be provided with equipment.
- You might be required to come into our offices in London on occasion to meet the client, the team, etc.
- This role is offered INSIDE IR35 only.
