**Responsibilities**:

- To work with our existing Activities Co-ordinator to organise and plan social activities / diversional therapy, considering residents' particular likes and dislikes
- To liaise with Care Staff regarding the care of residents and particular activities that may be beneficial and stimulating
- To lead regarding special individual requirements, such as the celebration of birthdays and anniversaries
- To liaise with Care Staff regarding special cultural and religious festivals and celebrations, and to be aware of the religious calendars that may affect activity pursuits of the residents
- To facilitate and promote a positive environment within Woodlands
- To maintain and refresh displays and decorations throughout Woodlands
- To plan activities to a set timetable and to ensure that these are communicated to residents and staff alike
- To be responsible for distribution of library books throughout Woodlands and replenish the magazine rack
- To ensure the provision of specialist media for residents with special needs (skype calls, news tapes, book tapes, large-letter books and Braille)
- To communicate and liaise with relatives and friends of residents as needed
- To correctly document all activities and liaise with Care Staff to ensure that activities are documented as appropriate in Care Plans and in Care Plan records
- To work as part of a team to assist the care staff (e.g. assisting residents with feeding at meal times, monitor safety in the lounge and dining room)
- To organize and attend quarterly parties (summer BBQ, Halloween, Christmas, Easter)
- To undertake and assist in other duties, as may be necessary from time to time
