We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, well-organised individual to the post of Information Adviser, who will work under the direction of the Service Operations Manager and will contribute to the delivery of a customer focused, cost effective and efficient library and digital support service. The position is for 25.9 hours per week on a permanent basis (working pattern to be determined on appointment).

Based at the Charles Seale-Hayne Library at our city centre campus, you will be based within the Content work area, supporting tasks which include, but are not limited to:

- Dealing with orders, renewals and invoices from suppliers
- Receipting of print stock, cataloguing and classifying materials
- E-resource and eBook activation and authentication
- Assisting in the delivery of services such as inter library loans, digitisation of course extracts, sourcing alternative format requests, administering postal loans
- Administrative duties in support of Information Specialists and collection development e.g. maintenance of reading lists, placing and monitoring book orders, stock checks
- Designated projects as appropriate

You may also be asked to cover duties and tasks for staff in other teams, working across Library services as circumstances require.

You will need to have effective communication skills, experience of working collaboratively within a team, as well as the ability to work in compliance with financial regulations. You will have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with excellent IT skills, particularly working knowledge of Excel and handling large amounts of data.

The work within the team is busy and varied, and you will need to be able to prioritise different tasks and plan and organise your time effectively. You will be expected to show initiative, flexibility and self-motivation, and be able to work unsupervised to a high standard. The ability to analyse, problem-solve and problem-manage is also desirable.
