- The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for the day-to-day clerical support to individual team members.
- The post holder will assist in the maintenance of an office management system, which provides effective communication to team members and others as appropriate.
- The post holder will be encouraged to engage with the patients and getting involved with mealtimes and other activities on the ward.
- The post holder will be the first point of contact for patients, members of the general public and referrers who wish to make enquiries. It is an essential requirement of the post that the post holder courteously provides information and deals with enquiries.

Based at Springfield University Hospital, Wisteria Ward is a 12 bedded national inpatient eating disorders unit for children and adolescents aged between 11 and 18. The service is commissioned by NHS England and managed in the SLP CAMHS Tier 4 Provider Collaborative.

Wisteria Ward as an inpatient CAMHS eating disorders unit that provides treatment and aims to keep admission length less than 12 weeks.

**About our locations**:
Springfield University Hospital, Tooting

Our largest, 19-ward site is in Springfield Village, created following our £150m investment into two new world class mental health facilities. A 32-acre public park, shops and cafes are coming soon. Close to shops, cafes and Tooting Bec on the Northern Line plus Earlsfield and Tooting rail stations and bus routes.

Secretarial/Administrative Duties
- To be responsible for the preparation of ward rounds, to arrange and confirm patients meeting dates, type up and circulate outcomes.
- To ensure that all correspondence and documents are accurately and efficiently typed and dispatched, according to priority.
- To support managers with maintaining Key Performance Indicators by providing weekly reports
- To ensure that discharge summaries are uploaded and dispatched within the 24 hour KPI
- To liaise professionally and courteously with patients within a busy and fast paced environment.
- To answer telephone calls from patients, relatives, health professionals and other bodies sensitively and politely, ensuring all messages are passed to the appropriate person in a timely and effective manner.
- To format articles to ensure they are presented appropriately for submission to journals.
- To greet patients, relatives and visitors with patience and sensitivity, assisting them as appropriate.
- To photocopy and fax information, distributing and filing as appropriate.
- To sort incoming mail, date stamp and distribute as appropriate.
- To extract information for third parties as appropriate.
- To take notes at community and staff meetings type up and circulate.
- To attend all relevant weekly meetings, ensuring that matters discussed are recorded and actioned appropriately, and that lists are updated and issued promptly.
