_**JOB FUNCTION**:_
This role encompasses the requirements of the Quality, Compliance and Legislative aspects of the business, along with the day-to-day maintenance of management system registrations. You will be responsible for both regulatory compliance and regulatory development by ensuring the products are fit for purpose and consistent. Overseeing the Inspection Department ensuring that products conform to specified requirements meeting both customer and internal expectations. You will support the Head of Operations through demonstration and utilisation of a high attention to detail and an appreciation of the exceptional working standards demanded within the Aerospace and allied industries.
- **PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:_
- Assist the Head of Operations with maintaining the facilities and to perform audits with the relevant authorities and customers.
- Complete and maintain Quality Assurance reports and documentation required to comply with company and customer procedures and order requirements
- High knowledge for First Article Inspection Reporting including material and various finishing certifications.
- First Article Verification Reporting.
- Establish and implement quality procedures, standards, specifications, and test protocols
- Work alongside the Production; investigate ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency and to make suggestions for changes and improvements and assist with their implementation
- Liaise with Sales and Production; review customer requirements and ensure they are met
- Carry out regular site inspections, check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
- Conduct compliance and process internal audits, raising corrective actions against noted deficiencies and recommendations for improvement as appropriate

- Manage the Test Area and calibrated test equipment.
- Final Inspection and control on non-conformances raised.
- To function as the focal point for product/process quality issues
- Full Line Management responsibility for the Quality Department including Inspection, calibration, workload planning and distribution, recruitment, performance and absence management, disciplinary and grievance management etc.
- Support on H&S; support, where required, risk assessments and COSHH documentation, investigate and manage incidents including RIDDOR reporting, facilities maintenance, always encouraging best practice
- **PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED**:_
- Education to HND, degree or high level
- ISO 9001 Standard for Quality Management Systems experience
- Experience performing first article inspection within a machining or production engineering environment
- Skilled in the use of manufacturing inspection instruments and methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts
- Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings and quality requirements
- Willing to travel within the UK
- Creditable and able to liaise confidently with both internal and external stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Professional conduct demonstrated at all times with the ability to remain calm under pressure/working to tight deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail, with a methodical approach to tasks
- Positive attitude combined with a ‘common sense’ approach with the ability to motivate self and others
- Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels
- **PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED**:_
- Experience of leading/supervising a small team
- Working knowledge of UK and EC legislation relating to lifting machines
- Working knowledge of UK Export Controls
- Membership of quality or engineering professional institution
