Band 3 Peer Support Worker - Redbridge EIP

We are looking to recruit an EIP peer support worker who has lived experience of mental health and is motivated and with proven abilities to work positively with service user, carers and family.

Redbridge EIP is a multi-disciplinary service, providing a range of specialist interventions within an integrated person centred approach to people aged 14-65 resident in the Borough of Redbridge experiencing or suspected of experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

EIP services are an exciting community mental health specialist team that has been provided with an increase in funding to support the team to ensure that we offer the NICE guideline for interventions. This requires the collaborative working through our multi disciplinary team - including IPS worker, CCO’s, STR worker, psychology and physical health.

The post is full time, offering excellent opportunities to develop special interests; share expertise and work closely with colleagues. Training, good support and partnership working is offered. Close relationships also exist with multi-agency partners and specialist Perinatal and CAMHS services.

The teams operational working hours is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm although some flexibility may be needed, a car driver is not essential for the role.

**The main responsibilities of the post**:
1. To help ensure that service users engage effectively with the agreed Care Plan and access appropriate services.
2. To be responsible for liaising with and providing information to other agencies involved in the care of the service user.
3. To develop a rapport and a therapeutic relationship with service users, within appropriate boundaries, as defined by the essential principles of peer support work
4. To provide regular and practical support to service users and their carers (as appropriate) in developing and managing independence and maintaining dignity and self-respect

COVID-19 Vaccination

The successful applicant will be an NHS employee and may therefore have contact with vulnerable service users. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been necessary to take significant steps to protect the health and safety of our staff, service users and those attending our sites. To comply with our duty of care, we require our staff to have the COVID vaccine and we will ask for proof of vaccination during the recruitment process. Vaccination will be a condition of employment unless an exemption applies.

Probationary Period
