St Austell, United Kingdom Cornwall Council Full time

**Targeted Youth Work Vacancy - 37 hours a week in the Early Help Restormel Team**

**About the role**

Targeted Youth Workers can make a real difference to the young people they support. Their work seeks to promote young people’s personal and social development and enable them to have a voice. Youth work gives young people the confidence and life skills they need to live, learn, work and achieve. It offers young people safe spaces to explore their identity, experience decision-making, and increase their confidence.

Targeted Youth Workers (TYW) work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to support vulnerable young people and their families at times of increased need and difficulty. In Cornwall we take a relational and strengths-based approach. We are an outstanding authority with a proven track record of building on family and young people’s strengths

TYW’s are expected to hold a JNC Youth Work qualification or a Secondary Teaching qualification with some experience of working informally with young people. TYW Workers will carry out assessments with children and families, devise plans of intervention, undertake direct work.

There is a full time (37 Hours) vacancy in the Early Help team in Restormel covering -St Austell, Newquay and The Clays areas
