Trust Registrar in Older People's Services React
6 months ago
Are you interested in becoming a key part of an innovative and forward-thinking organisation, developing your clinical skills across traditional health, social care and voluntary sector boundaries?
REACT brings health, social care and voluntary sector (British Red Cross and Suffolk Family Carer) services together to provide a single coordinated care response that is underpinned by care in the community with early intervention, crisis management, reablement and rehabilitation.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a middle grade doctor to join our award winning REACT (Reactive, Emergency, Assessment, Community Team) service. Based in the lovely county of Suffolk, this is a key role to support the development of the virtual frailty ward and the 2-hour urgent community response across East Suffolk.
The virtual frailty ward seeks to manage individuals living with frailty who have an acute medical condition that would usually necessitate an admission to the hospital but with the support provided by the virtual frailty ward team, the individual will be supported to remain in their own home receiving a high level of clinical care ,diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage the acute episode.
The urgent community response within REACT provides a two-hour response and subsequent support to people who are experiencing a health or social care crisis that puts the individual at risk of not being safely managed within their own home with an increased risk of a hospital admission. This service enables adults with complex needs to access support from a wide range of health, voluntary and social care practitioners, supporting the individual’s independence if possible.
One of the largest Trust’s in East Anglia, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) provide hospital and community health services to people living across a wide geographical area. We deliver care from two main hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, six community hospitals and in patients’ own homes. You will be joining a team of almost 12,000 amazing colleagues providing care to approximately a million people.
Along with supporting you to achieve your career goals we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (if applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata) and access to a range of NHS discounts. Our Staff Health and Wellbeing programme offer a variety of services. We offer a range of flexible working opportunities.
Our philosophy is thatTime Mattersto everyone. Across the Trust, we concentrate on improving the things we do and removing those which do not work or cause time delays for our staff and patients.
To support our employees to achieve their career aspirations you may be eligible to obtain a qualification via an apprenticeship. For full details please see the attached Apprenticeship Handbook.
If you are passionate about patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge then we are keen to hear from you.

The Middle Grade Doctor would be an integral part of both these key functions within the REACT team and would be a key player in building relationships between REACT and primary care, the acute trust, East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) and the wider community integrated neighbourhood teams.
The role will provide the opportunity to work within REACT, taking referrals from the ambulance stack and providing clinical assessment and appropriate treatment to enable the patients to remain in their own home to receive their care. In addition, clinical input will be required to assist in the development and running of the frailty virtual ward, hosted by REACT.
