This role is known internally as Senior Talent Partner

**About the role**:
At a critical time in the Partnership, in the People team we’re supporting the business to transform, and at the same time, working hard to transform ourselves. The role of Senior Business Partner works closely with the Executive team to understand and build strategic People plans that support the delivery of the Partnership Plan and our transformation.

A key focus for our Senior Business Partners is to act as both a trusted advisor and critical friend to our Executive leaders and their leadership teams, coaching and advising on all aspects of commercial, cultural and Partner-centred planning to ensure best People practice is put into place. A key element of the role is the identification and development of great, inclusive talent in the Partnership.

We are looking for experienced Business Partners with specialist knowledge areas including:

- Food Retail
- Financial Services
- Property/Build To Rent

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Working closely as a strategic partner to Executive Directors, ensuring the Partnership has the right people capabilities to deliver the Partnership Plan, now and in the future.
- Optimising the performance of the organisation, increasing the effectiveness of our most senior leaders and creating the conditions for high performing teams; through regular challenge and coaching to the leaders you partner, helping them to transform the business and their leadership practice to develop inclusive and responsible leadership.
- Working across the People function to create and deliver a holistic and effective people strategy that ensures we have the talent and capabilities required to fulfil the aspirations of the Partnership.
- Leading a wide portfolio of work, including partnering Executive and Enterprise Leaders on their organisational strategies, selecting and deploying talent strategies to drive talent development, retention and leadership succession planning.
- Partner across the Talent & Development teams including our executive talent acquisition on executive hiring, our leadership team on development for our senior leaders, as well as the talent and performance team in embedding our talent and succession practices.

**Essential skills & experience required**:

- Experience driving a strategic People agenda across large and complex business areas.
- Substantial knowledge of generalist HR practices and industry leading practices in Talent and Performance.
- Ability to demonstrate intellect and capability to develop a well thought out people plan to underpin the delivery of the Partnership Plan and overarching People Strategy.
- Demonstrable experience coaching and influencing senior leaders (up to and including Executive/c-suite), with a focus on behavioural change.
- At ease with complexity and able to articulate a clear vision for the future.
- Experience at managing multiple programmes of work running concurrently.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills, managing stakeholders with multiple important priorities.
- Strong influencing skills, including demonstrated ability to influence and drive results at all levels of the organisation.
- Strength in engaging data reporting & analytics.

**Desirable skills & experience**:

- Recognised qualification in Human Resource Management, Occupational Psychology, Executive Coaching or Business.
- Significant experience of Partnering at Executive/c-suite level
- Previous Retail experience
- FMCG & Union experience would be an advantage
