Leadership and Management This post does not hold any responsibility for line managing staff currently however if the triage and waiting well roles expand there may be line management responsibility of a band 3 practitioner. Communication The post holder will be required to communicate with a range of people, including communication about sensitive and difficult matters, with people who may be experiencing high levels of distress. Therefore, effective communication using a range of skills in relationship building and overcoming barriers to communication, whilst adhering to Navigo policies and procedures is essential for the role. Key Relationships: The post holder will be expected to work with: Service users and other members of the public e.g.

relatives and carers The NHSTT clinical and admin team Wider Navigo services Partner organisations GPs and other referrers Local statutory providers Local voluntary sector organisations Work with Service Manager and team managers to develop updated leaflets. Clinical Supervision and Case Management Supervision Attend clinical and managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with line manager and in line with professional requirements. To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties To contribute to the training and support of other staff in primary care services. Participate in Individual Performance Review and respond to agreed objectives.

Clinical The post holder will assertively follow up on service users who have been referred or self-referred for treatment when contact attempts for initial assessment via usual pathways have been unsuccessful. The post holder will update records to indicate additional steps taken to attempt contact. The post holder will assertively follow up on reported DNAs where risk is identified by practitioners and escalate appropriately. the post holder will investigate and process each referral coming to triage, referring on and leading on their case as per policies and processes in place.

To ensure that all processes are effective and high standards are maintained. Have a working knowledge of Navigo policies and procedures. To participate in and keep up to date with Navigo mandatory training requirements. To develop skills and competencies necessary for the role, including attending additional training and CPD when required to do so.

Ability to organise own diary and appointments to meet the needs of the service Manage the waiting list appropriately with support calls, running groups, escalating concerns and building rapport with those waiting for therapeutic input. Assist clinicians in running NHSTT specific group therapy. Ability to document thoroughly on the electronic system, including any risk, current mental health and changes in presentation Ability to liaise with other services as needed to include, Crisis team, Community mental health, Primary Care Networks, GPs, Police, probation etc. Undertake psychological assessments of service users referred to the service, using the NHSTT minimum data set and other questionnaires as appropriate.

Ensuring that service users access appropriate pathways according to their psychological needs To attend and contribute to appropriate meetings relevant to the service To ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating bodies and keep up to date on new recommendations. Guidelines set by the Department of Health. Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times Professional To maintain professional registration. To assist in the design and implementation of audit and research projects To undertake data collection, analysis, production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

To undertake searches of evidence based literature and research to assist qualified practitioners and therapists in evidence based practice.
