The Medicine Division is currently looking to recruit Patient Transfer Assistant's on a variety of shift patterns including 0800-20:30 (Long day) and 16.00-01.30 (Twilight shift) covering Monday - Sunday.

You will be responsible, following training, for the collection and delivery of patients across the Queens Medical Centre. You will be part of a dedicated team delivering this essential service to the Trust and have excellent customer service skills, good understanding of manual handling and safety and lead by example in this operational role.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of hospital flow and to help build key relationships between patients and staff.

The Transfer Team will assist with the flow of patients from the Emergency department, through the Assessment units and on to the Base wards.

Ensure patient movement and other movement requests are actioned promptly.

Maintain high standard of cleanliness of equipment and accessories, e.g. trolleys ,beds, Wheelchair

Carry out the expected role without the need for constant supervision and direction, although recognising limitations and seeking supervision where necessary.

Maintain patient and staff confidentiality.

Participate in individual performance review process using competency/ knowledge and skills framework.

Participate in individual performance review process using competency/ knowledge and skills framework.

To undertake such duties as required, enabling the ward areas to be effective in its use of resources.

To assist in all general duties of housekeeping within Medicine when and where required

Be prepared to attend and undertake any necessary training, being aware of the need to develop oneself and to strive to increase personal knowledge.

Assist with the training of new colleagues in the team
