An exciting opportunity has arisen for Patient Pathway Administrator to join the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology based across City and QMC sites.

Main duties of the job

As part of a team you will be responsible for the audio typing and transcription of clinical correspondence. You will need to ensure all clinical correspondence is typed and processed within specified timescales and that outcomes are recorded correctly. You will also be supporting the Specialty PAs in the management of the RTT pathways and results for patients.

You will need to be a fast and accurate audio typist with a sound knowledge of medical terminology, preferably having previously worked within a hospital setting. You will also be able to prioritise your workload with constantly changing demands to meet agreed deadlines.

You will ideally have RSA III word processing or equivalent, be educated to GCSE standard and have experience in the use of computer systems including Microsoft packages and ideally Winscribe, Medway PAS and NOTIS.

Essential criteria
- 5 GCSE’s or equivalent C or above - must include English

Desirable criteria

Experience & Communication

Essential criteria
- Experience in using Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Demonstrates an understanding of patient / client confidentiality
- Experience in completing letters, forms, reports and tables using computerised technology
- Previous experience within a similar admin role
- Ability to clearly and accurately convey information

Desirable criteria
- Previous NHS Experience
- Knowledge of 18 week and Cancer targets / Medical Terminology

- Able to use judgement to make decisions in order to solve problems / enquiries
- Able to complete tasks using own initiative

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
