Band 2 Clinical Coding Assistant - 15.00 hrs

The Clinical Coding Department at NCIC has an opportunity for a committed, enthusiastic and hardworking Coding Assistant to join our team.

You should have good IT and communication skills along with a keen eye for detail. The role involves extracting clinical information from relevant reports, therefore an understanding of medical terminology would be advantageous.

Based at West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven you will be responsible for locating, retrieving and tracking case notes to aid a busy Coding department to meet monthly deadlines. Other duties will include VTE collection along with Radiology, Renal and Palliative care coding.

In addition, you must be motivated and be capable of organising your own workload in order to meet deadlines and to support the department. You will also have evidence of working in a team environment and contributing to that team’s success.

**Standard Check**: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

**Enhanced Check**: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
