We are currently recruiting for a Senior Support Officer to assist in the day-to-day operational management of the Homes for Independent Living Sheltered Service, including continuous service improvement to ensure effective and efficient service delivery and monitoring all contractors when on site.
To provide effective cover in the absence of Scheme Support Officers within the HFIL team, to ensure all aspects of work are covered daily to provide a high-quality management services to the residents and schemes.
Undertake tenant document reviews to ensure all relevant information is current and reviewed twice a year (medical/ health information. Medication, GP, emergency contact details and information held by central control).
To provide floating support to Medway Council’s general need tenants as and when required.
To be responsible for the resident’s well-being checked daily Monday to Friday or as agreed with the residents, liaising with care management / community nursing staff/ Medway Helpline / GP and other organisations.
Supporting tenants with basic rent enquiries and monitor weekly. To escalate to Housing Officer or Welfare reform Officer where required.
Participate as and when required in case conferences and other multidisciplinary case planning groups.
To assist residents to claim benefits or contact other statutory services on their behalf.
Ensure all security systems are in place and operating at all times and to protect and respect the confidentiality / privacy of all residents.
Proactively identify repairs and any maintenance issues within the schemes and report them according to the agreed procedure.
Undertake routine checks and effectiveness of the call system, telecare devices and fire alarms and any other systems that are identified as contributing to the health safety and wellbeing of the residents.
Ensure Personal Evacuation Plans for each resident is reviewed 6 monthly as a minimum or as and when their circumstances change.
To carry out routine Estate Inspections of the schemes in line with procedure.
To undertake fire drills and evacuation procedures in accordance with the relevant risk assessments and processes
To assist with the void process / procedure to reduce to a minimum the time the property is empty.
Assisting in the management of up to 4 staff and contribute towards and develop service plans for the team, ensuring the organisation is compliant with all statutory legislation.
To represent the Housing Service at both internal and external partner and stakeholder meetings
To assist, develop and promote resident involvement both within the service and with residents.
Analysis and monitoring performance of service indicators (KPI’s) and outcomes and production to ensure service quality and standards are achieved.
To ensure the service has all relevant policies and procedures in place with relevant guidance on support planning. To assist in the monitoring and reviewing of risk assessments on an annual basis.
Undertake assessment visits of all potential residents to ensure they are suitable and understand the implications of moving into a HFIL Scheme.
Ensuring all schemes H&S compliancy checks are carried out, escalate any issues that need further investigation and represent schemes for major works.
