**£12.00 per hour plus company benefits**
**32 hours per week (flexible days).**
Hartwood House is a luxury residential and dementia care home situated in Lyndhurst. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking part-time Maintenance Assistant to work 32 hours per week. Flexibility on working days is required. This role is based at Hartwood House, but there will be a requirement to be able to support our other homes in the Hampshire region in the future. A car driver is essential to this role as there may be some driving duties using the care home vehicles.
The main function of this role is to support and assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining all areas within the home on a daily basis. The Maintenance Assistant's primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the residents. This person is a hands-on team player with sound organizational skills. Experience in carpentry, gardening, electrical or general building maintenance is an advantage.
The Maintenance Assistant interacts positively with all team members and residents and needs to be happy to turn their hand to mulitiple tasks.
**Main Responsibilities**1. Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the home including any faults or repairs which may need to be corrected within your capability and company guidelines.
2. Give support to all heads of departments in looking at areas that may need altering or improving and perform all preventative maintenance tasks to the best of your ability.
3. Ensure that the home is kept to the agreed maintenance standards.
4. Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests and concerns raised by residents, family members and team members according to the homes reporting maintenance request log or system.
**Person Specification**
1. Physically and medically able to carry out duties and responsibilities with or without assistive aids
2. Knowledge of PAT testing an advantage, although can be trained
3. Ability to work alone or as part of a team
4. Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace
5. Good problem solving skills
6. Fire training or Fire Marshall in previous role advantageous
