**Exciting news We are expanding our team and have a vacancy for 'Call Handler, who can also provide administrative support to our experienced team.**
We are a buzzing and friendly city-centre GP Surgery with almost 13,000 registered patients, looking for team members who like to multitask
This is a great opportunity for a person to build a new career in the NHS with a practice who pride themselves in building a supportive, professional, long-standing team.
A typical day would be spending time on reception, answering phones, dealing with patient queries, and generally helping with everything else in between. You will need to have a good eye for detail, be calm, have great keyboard skills and enjoy working with people. In return we are pleased to offer:
Once training has been completed, you may be responsible for supporting one of our GP's.
A professional attitude is essential, excellent keyboard skills, good phone manner and able to work under pressure.
No contracted anti-social/weekend hours (hours fall between 8am and 6.30pm)
**Previous experience in a medical environment is desirable, however, we recognise that strengths from alternative services can bring benefits to our team.**

**Desired qualities**:
- Previous experience with SystmOne clinical system and a medical environment however full training will be given.
- Good reception and typing/keyboard skills.
- Excellent communication skills with a background of customer care.
- Clear understanding of confidentiality.
- Flexibility.
- Ability to cope under pressure in a busy environment.
- Good organisational skills
- Empathetic nature.
**Duties**:
- Reception duties dealing with patients either face to face or via phone.
- Dealing with vast amounts of incoming phone calls
- Make appointments for patients for all clinical staff
- Arranging visits
- Electronic filing and scanning
- Accurate data entry
- Liaising with outside agencies i.e. social services, transport.
- Dealing with tasks sent directly from GPs
- Phoning patients under the instruction of GPs.
**Salary**: From £23,400.00 per year
