**About the role**:
- As a Performance Improvement Advisor you will be producing bespoke analysis for internal stakeholders, identifying improvement activities to achieve business level and industry level targets.
Using your strong analytical skills you will be interpreting complex datasets to identify performance risks and issues and providing detailed reports for the Performance Improvement Business Partner and Regional teams.

**Key responsibilities**:
- This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:
- Providing insight to the Performance Improvement Business Partner, analysing Regional Performance Improvement Plan success.
- Conducting accurate analysis of complex datasets to identify performance improvement opportunities and develop business cases.
- Leading regional performance initiatives, including monitoring exercises, investigations, and detailed reporting.
- Representing Northern at industry meetings, contributing to decision-making on regional policy implementation.
- Improving data quality through detailed analysis and investigations, guiding senior management interventions.
- Managing Northern Performance Improvement Management System (PIMS), supporting local managers in developing improvement plans.
**About you**:
- You will need be able to think laterally and identify potential solutions to issues or problems, ensuring you consider risks and identify mitigations. You will have a good understanding of Service Planning and Performance Processes with knowledge of the railway or a similar technical field.
We’re also looking for the following:
- Extensive knowledge of spreadsheets and databases with the ability to critically evaluate and interpret.
- Knowledge of relevant parts of the Track Access, Passenger Service Contracts, and Northern standards which relate to operational planning and performance
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal comfortably with people at all levels.
- Experience and understanding of lean tools and techniques
