**Contract: 3-6 months (Possible Extension)**

**Salary: £21.88 p/h UMBRELLA**

**Start Date: ASAP**

**Shift Pattern: 36 hours per week /Monday - Friday / 8:30am - 5:00pm
**HYBRID WORKING AVAILABLE**

**DUTIES**
- To provide a range of welfare benefit and debt advice for our residents to assist them in maximizing their household income and sustain their tenancies.
- Work with resident to ensure they claim maximum benefits to maximize their income and prevent or reduce arrears.
- Produce monthly reports and statistics on outcomes achieved including the value of benefits claimed as a direct result of intervention and the impact on rent arrears.
- Manage the partnerships with local Foodbanks; distribute vouchers and maintain accurate record keeping.
- Support residents by providing advice on debt issues and signposting complex cases to other agencies.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- At least 2 years’ experience within a Housing Officer role or equivalent.
- In depth understanding of welfare benefits, especially Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.
- Good standard of numeracy, literacy, and ability to use IT and Housing management software.
- Experience of dealing with complex caseloads.
