**Monday to Friday either 8.30am-5.00pm or 9.00am-5.30pm**

**About the Position**:

- **Student Welfare Advisor** to join our incredible Welfare Team.**The main aspects of this exciting role are**:

- Responsible for the delivery of provision of student welfare services, including one-to-one appointments, workshops and events, accommodation advice and support, funding/financial advice and student health advice (all advice to be within specified policies).
- To be a member of the safeguarding team, assessing risks and delivering training to staff
- Ensure the provision of professional services (externally where necessary) to ensure students have access to appropriate support. This may include counselling, learning and disability support for example, ensure students are effectively signposted to external agencies when appropriate.
- Assessing and making Safeguarding referrals and providing appropriate support and assistance
- Providing an emergency service for students in immediate distress.
- Delivery of Welfare related induction information including regular workshops.

This role would be a great fit if you’ve a proven ability to be a credible source of guidance and support on a range of issues that may evoke significant concern /involve risk and duty of care (mental health issues, urgent incidents, fitness to study, finance, personal issues, etc.)**We’d love you to be able to tick the following boxes, too (although not all are essential)**:

- A proven track record of developing and/or implementing inclusive policy and practice in an organisational context
- Experience in working in Higher Education
- Experience of developing and embedding good practice into service delivery
- Excellent communication skills
- Well organised and methodical
- The ability to work on own initiative
- The desire to progress both personally and within the team
- Up to date knowledge and experience of inclusion, disability and diversity legislation
- You don't necessarily need a Higher or Further Education background, but you'll certainly need the experience of, and ability to, be supportive, empathetic and compassionate.
