We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. The Transport Officer will provide administrative support across School Transport with periodic support for other teams within the service area. The service works with relevant internal and external stakeholders including parents, schools, headteachers and other local authorities in order to ensure that school transport support is awarded fairly and correctly, in accordance with legislation and the RBWM Home to School Transport Policy.

About the role

Reporting to the School Transport Team Leader, the Transport Officer responsibilities will include:

- Providing helpdesk cover
- Ensuring requests and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner
- Assist with processing invoices from all our service suppliers
- Maintaining accurate records of students and their transport assignments using the appropriate databases
- Communicate effectively with parents, schools, operators and suppliers to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective services will be key.

About you
- Educated to GCSE level C or above (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English or have an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration with proven evidence of continued professional development
- Good customer service skills - interacting with internal and external users is a core requirement including routine enquiries from members of the public, receiving and responding to incoming communication
- Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy) to aid accurate reporting to a range of stakeholders (which may include families, children or young people).
- Experience of working with others to provide seamless shared support on behalf of an executive office.
