An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist to join our CAMHS division, working together with young people and their families.

The Charity

St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental healthcare services. We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcareservices, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs.

The role

Our CAMHS division is a Trauma Informed Care Service, ensuring that everything we do is driven by an understanding of how trauma affects the whole person; physically, mentally and socially. We provide low and medium secure Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient services,with the objective of enabling young people to live well and to their full potential in the least restrictive environment possible.

We are looking for a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join our Therapy team, which includes forensic/clinical psychologists supported by assistants and trainees.We would consider those about to complete their doctoral training up to Principal Psychologistbanding.

You will join our psychology team and will have responsibility to undertake complex assessment and interventions including family work, influenced by a range of theoretical approaches.We have a long-standing DBT programme and would be able to provide thetraining/funding for you to facilitate DBT Skills Groups, offer DBT coaching and individual therapy.

There will also be the expectation that the post holder will provide psychological consultation to the team and be involved in delivering reflective practice and staff support.

About you

Professionally qualified and with HCPC registration, you will be motivated to implement change and be part of an excellent team in driving quality improvement.Ideally, you would have some have experience in supervision of others, delivering training andpractical

knowledge of structured professional judgement risk assessments.You would demonstrate an ability to communicate complex and, at times, sensitive information in an accessible and respectful way to patients, carers and staff.

You will be person-centred and a team player with skills in engaging people in their recovery; delivering evidence-based group and individual psychological therapies; working collaboratively with the MDT members including psychiatrists, nurses, occupationaltherapists and social workers.
