Runcorn, United Kingdom Gray Healthcare Ltd Full time

Job Introduction
We are looking for a **Mental Health Support Worker **who has **experience in complex cases** to join this specialist team. The person we support lives in his own property, and you will encourage him in his favourite activities such as rugby, going to the gym and a newly found interest in cooking.

As a Support Worker within Gray Healthcare, you will join a specialist team supporting an individual within their own home. We support people with complex needs, who may have a Learning Disability, Autism, Personality Disorder, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Substance Misuse issues, and people who require support with their Mental Health.

You will be an instrumental part of the team and will receive outstanding clinical support, leadership, and person-centred training. In this role you will support an individual to develop or regain life skills, assisting participation in community life by building strong and trusting working relationships.

You must have experience of providing support to a person with complex needs and behaviours that may be perceived as challenging within the UK and have experience of understanding and implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.

Gray Healthcare are different to most care providers in that that **we are clinically informed**. That means that there is a team of clinicians including nurses, occupational therapists, and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) specialists involved in developing the care and approach for each person that we support. This provides more direction to the Support teams; it is an inclusive approach that is proven to work to improve the lives and outcomes of the people that we support.

**Training**

We do not expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (company induction, systems, meds etc.) followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint-dominant approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you will complete shadow shifts.

Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.

**Hours**

Contract 36 Hours: 3 x 12 Hours Shifts 08:00-20:00

**About you**

We are looking for people who have worked in social care previously, ideally with Acquired Brain Injury experience and wo are able to be adaptable. You must hold a **UK MANUAL DRIVING LICENCE** and live a commutable distance to Salford. The PWS we support is a massive football fan, and a keen music fan of ninety’s Manchester music scene so having an interest in either would be preferable.

You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months.

**We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available.**

**Recruitment Process**
