We are currently recruiting for Technical Author to support our Engineering team at our office in Dyce, Aberdeen.

**Job Purpose and Scope**

The main purpose of this role is to create technical literature to support the sales and operation of surface wellhead, mudline suspension, subsea wellhead, and other Plexus products throughout their operational lifecycles.

**Main Responsibilities**

To carry out this role successfully you must be able to carry out the following duties:

- Create Service Manuals and procedures for the onshore assembly and offshore installation of Plexus equipment
- Produce printed and electronic copies of Service Manuals and Procedures as required for distribution
- Liaise closely with Project Managers to assure project technical literature is delivered on schedule and distributed in a controlled manner
- Manage the storage, distribution, and revision of Service Manuals and Operating Procedures
- Review and action any requests for technical documentation updates
- Regularly review and improve processes for creation, review, revision, and distribution of technical literature at Plexus
- Assure that documents produced are technically accurate and reflect current best practice
- Assure that documents produced conform to the Company’s brand guidelines
- Provide technical literature support for sales, projects, manufacturing, licensing, and service
- Prepare technical input for proposals, bids and tenders
- Follow and adhere to Engineering department procedures

**Person Specification**

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities that the successful applicant must have and be able to demonstrate:

- Qualification in English or Engineering
- Experience in the field of technical writing
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite of packages
- Detailed and clear technical writing skills
- Ability to read and understand technical material including technical drawings
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in English language verbal & written communication.
