We require a suitably experienced Team Leader to work in vibrant team environment. We are willing to work with you and there will be opportunities for further training and career progression.

Striving For Independence is a supported living care provider and delivers a range of care and support services for adults with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and with behaviours that challenge in their own homes, and in the community.

We assist with personal care, shopping, domestic tasks, medication, health needs, appointments, escorting day trips, holidays and much more.

Main duties include:

- To work with the Registered Manager/ Managers to oversee several supported living units across a designated geographical location, ensuring that systems and standards are maintained to a high quality.
- To ensure compliance with all external regulatory standards.
- To provide support, supervision, coaching and the development of Support Workers and Senior Support Workers within the identified teams on all quality issues such as care and service standards, record keeping and audit
- To participate in the care and training programmes applicable to each individual service user.
- To contribute to the reviewing and monitoring process in the development of each individual Support Plan.

Other duties include some of the following:

- Building a relationship/ friendship with the person(s) whilst you support them with living their lives.
- Support the person to manage their own home, including supporting them with maintaining their tenancies and give support and guidance when individuals move home.
- To share and oversee responsibility with the staff team for the promotion of the persons physical, emotional and social well-being.
- Support and encourage the person to make choices and life decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act requirements.
- Supporting people to plan and achieve their daily outcomes, especially developing skills and independence.
- Keep accurate and up to date records and be responsible for the effective administration and maintenance of the home
- Support people with their finances, where necessary, and in line with our company guidelines
- To observe and record any significant behaviour changes
- To co-ordinate the planning and implementation of day and leisure activities in conjunction with the staff team.
- To help train junior members of staff in all aspects of their work.
- To develop and support the work of the staff team in order to achieve a high quality of service.
- Work positively and maintain constructive relationships with service users, colleagues, families, external organisations, neighbours, volunteers and professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
