Procurement Associate

Lichfield, United Kingdom Central England Coop Full time

**What will you be doing?**:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Procurement Team as a Procurement Associate.

As part of this role, you’ll help to ensure that we procure goods and services (GNFR) for the best value whilst both building long term relationships and meeting supply chain sustainability objectives.

Through your support, you will help to ensure that all procurement activity is conducted in line with our Procurement Policy.

An opportunity to build strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues, this role will see you carrying out market research regarding the supply chain.

Working with the Senior Procurement Managers &/or Head of Procurement, you’ll carry out tactical sourcing, tenders, baseline activity as well as preparing spend data reporting.

Leading reviews of tail-end spend behaviours, you’ll utilise your skills to look for areas of opportunity through the lens of innovation, rationalisation, and consolidation.

As well as being responsible for the Procurement delivery plan (taking responsibility for reporting and maintaining procurement templates), you’ll also be responsible for maintaining our Procurement system (including setting up suppliers and raising requisitions).

You’ll work closely with our Purchase to Pay and Source to Pay teams, to look at both simplification as well as innovation regarding both our systems and any other opportunities, a real opportunity to make a difference and a positive impact on our Procurement Team.

To help ensure that you are fully equipped for success in this role, after your initial ‘settling in period’ of 3-6 months, you’ll have the opportunity to be enrolled on an 18 month apprenticeship programme. You’ll work towards gaining a Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant qualification which will allow you to add value to our organisation as you learn and further your knowledge and skills.

We’ve partnered with an external apprenticeship training provider to progress you through your apprenticeship. You’ll spend 20% of you working hours dedicated to completing your apprenticeship - from attending webinars and interactive workshops to writing assignments, or discussing your progress with your mentor, buddy or line manager.

You’ll be fully supported along the way
- we’re committed to your success and development.

**How will I know if I am right for this role?**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and driven individual to join us in this role and help to shape the future of our Procurement Team. Utmost we are looking for an individual who is curious by nature and will challenge the status quo.

Ideally, you’ll bring 1-2 years demonstratable experience of working in a commercial environment (previous experience working in Retail, Funeral or at the Support Centre would be beneficial).

Whilst this is an entry level position, it would be advantageous to have experience of working and/or managing suppliers or bring previous experience of working in an analytical role.

To be eligible for the apprenticeship, you’ll need to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at GCSE grade 4 (C) or above or a relevant level 2 qualification. Additionally, you must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.

A strong team player
- you will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, as well as showing curiosity and a confidence to challenge where appropriate.

**What is in it for me?**

In addition to our competitive salaries, our colleagues also benefit from:

- **Fantastic colleague discount**:

- including a discount of up to 20% on our products.
- **Retail discounts**:

- our new hub offers colleagues access to hundreds of exclusive retail discounts, save money on days out and take advantage of holiday discounts.
- **Holiday buy**:

- colleagues can buy up to a week extra of annual leave each year to enjoy the things that matter to them outside of work.
- **Colleague recognition-** we make sure we celebrate our colleague’s achievements both personally and professionally
- **Enhanced family friendly policies**:

- we want to help you feel fully supported during any significant life events.
- **Share of the profits**:

- We pay a share of our profits to eligible colleagues as a thank you for their contribution to our success.
- **Paid time for volunteering**:

- we encourage our colleagues to spend three days per year taking part in volunteering, fully paid for by us.
- **Give as you earn-** as a caring society, we want to help you support charities which mean something to you.
- **Healthcare Cashplan**:

- your wellbeing is important, so you are able contribute to a voluntary plan that helps pay towards a range of healthcare expenses.
- **Company Pension**:

- Colleagues can access a company pension scheme with us and receive an employer contribution when they too contribute. We also offer Pension wellbeing information to help you plan for
