Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join our Commercial Services Team at Staffordshire Police. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a robust and strategic approach to procurement, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement legislation and achieving value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the needs of Staffordshire Police, Staffordshire Fire & Rescue, and the Staffordshire Commissioner's Office.
- Manage and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and achieving best value.
- Coach and support the Procurement Apprentice, providing guidance and developing their skills and experience.
- Participate in supplier meetings and contract performance management to ensure value for money throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Work closely with colleagues at all levels to achieve commercial excellence and deliver contracts that meet the needs of the organizations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement and commercial services, with a strong understanding of public sector procurement legislation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a flexible and agile way, with a strong focus on delivering results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work in a team environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
