Lichfield, United Kingdom Central England Coop Full time

**What will you be doing?**:
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Procurement Team as an SRM Associate.

Central Co-op spend £130 (m) per annum procuring goods and services (GNFR) from suppliers which help run the Central Co-op business, from IT through to Facilities Management, from Funeral operations to Retail. In this role, you will be helping to manage our key suppliers, ensuring we receive value for money, whilst also building long term relationships, driving innovation, and meeting supply chain sustainability objectives.

This role will see you helping to manage and maintain our key and critical supplier list, carrying out credit checks, maintaining governance oversight reports, managing small innovation projects, managing service escalation and conflict resolution, and working closely with managers to ensure we drive the right performance from our suppliers.

Through building a collaborative supplier network, you’ll be making a difference and helping to ensure that we are always at the forefront with innovation and suitability.

You’ll create a supplier and market focused network internally to ensure an aligned approach to Supplier Relationship Management, as well as gaining insight externally through research into the market.

As well as maintaining the Procurement Risk Register, you’ll also provide support to the Senior SRM Manager/Head of Procurement with focused governance groups such as Deep Dives, Supplier Reviews, KP Setting etc.

A cooperative and engaged team member, you’ll provide any additional support as required.

To help ensure that you are fully equipped for success in this role, after your initial ‘settling in period’ of 3-6 months, you’ll have the opportunity to be enrolled on an 18 month apprenticeship programme. You’ll work towards gaining a Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant qualification which will allow you to add value to our organisation as you learn and further your knowledge and skills.

We’ve partnered with an external apprenticeship training provider to progress you through your apprenticeship. You’ll spend 20% of you working hours dedicated to completing your apprenticeship - from attending webinars and interactive workshops to writing assignments, or discussing your progress with your mentor, buddy or line manager.

You’ll be fully supported along the way
- we’re committed to your success and development.

**How will I know if I am right for this role?**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and driven individual to join us in this role and help to shape the future of our team. Utmost we are looking for an individual who is curious, and will challenge the status quo.

Ideally, you’ll bring 1-2 years demonstratable experience of working in a commercial environment (previous experience working in Retail, Funeral or at the Support Centre would be beneficial).

Whilst this is an entry level position, it would be advantageous to have experience of working and/or managing suppliers or bring previous experience of working in an analytical role.

A strong team player
- you will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, as well as showing curiosity and a confidence to challenge where appropriate.

You’ll have strong communication skills which will enable you to build and maintain a range of working relationships including with the Executive Team, Budget Owners, Finance Team as well as key and critical supplier leads.

To be eligible for the apprenticeship, you’ll need to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at GCSE grade 4 (C) or above or a relevant level 2 qualification. Additionally, you must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.
