An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated nurse to join the Head and Neck Directorate here at Lancashire teaching hospitals

The post holder is a specialist lead accountable for their own professional actions, responsible in assisting the clinical ward/teams staff to assess, develop, implement and evaluate patient outcomes through specific education programmes / evidence-based practice. To co-ordinate /facilitate educational activities for registered and non-registered staff within the Head and Neck Directorate within the Division of Surgery.

The post holder is required to develop and maintain an effective environment for learning within the wards and departments of the Head and Neck Directorate through coaching and staff development by a variety of methods and in a variety of settings.
- Deliver face to face training to staff, in groups and one to one sessions
- Provide support to ward and clinic staff, identifying gaps in knowledge and working with individuals towards a competency framework
- Undertake assessment to confirm that staff have met the required standard of competence
- Act as a role model for provision of high quality and safe care
- Must have airway experience as will be required to support ward staff to manage altered airway as well as families and patients on their discharge.

This role will support the delivery of education to our medical nursing team which is paramount in supporting clinical excellence.

- To lead on the development of clinical competence within the workplace across the range of healthcare professionals in line with agreed directorate and Trust educational development strategies and priorities.
- To facilitate the development and delivery of multi-professional learning within the clinical environment.
- To formulate, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based training sessions and programmes to meet the identified needs of staff within the Directorate of Head and Neck which reflect service need.
