YMCA Robin Hood Group is a not-for profit organisation where we support children, young people and vulnerable adults by the provision of supported housing, childrens homes, wrap around care, school holiday clubs and a whole range of other youth programmes.

Safeguarding is of paramount importance to us as we continue to expand our organisation, now is the right time to appoint a dedicated Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Being based primarily between Nottingham and Newark, you will be the lead source of support, training, advice and expertise for safeguarding throughout the YMCA Robin Hood Group.

As Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), you will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection including online safety and understanding the filtering and monitoring systems and processes in place.

You can expect your role to include the following on a day to day basis:

- **Provide expert advice** across YMCA Robin Hood Group and ensure that service users are safeguarded and always protected.
- **Provide advice, support and training** to all YMCA staff on child welfare, safeguarding and child protection matters
- **To lead and manage safeguarding compliance** ensuring that appropriate strategies, practice standards, policies, and procedures are in place to ensure the effective delivery of services and compliance with all contractual obligations.
- To work autonomously within professional guidelines and **lead any organisational response** to multi-agency and single agency case reviews with LADO, MASH, Ofsted, Police.
- Ensure all staff training is up to date, appropriate and tracked.
- **Carry out Internal Audits **to ensure that safeguarding matters and training are thoroughly covered.
- **To role model a culture of listening** to young people and adults considering their wishes and feelings so that measures may be put in place to protect them.
- **To provide safeguarding reports** for Board members

**About You**

Whether you have been part of safeguarding team or worked as a DSL previously, you will be looking for a role where you can work with real purpose and within an organisation where safeguarding underpins everything we do. You will ideally have an understanding of safeguarding from both the perspective of vulnerable adults and children

Your experience and recommendations will help us shape and evolve our Safeguarding policies and you will be instrumental in that development.

Your inter-personal skills will be exceptional. You will be equally able to build rapport and trust quickly with a wide range of stakeholders as you are to be able to write clear reports, articles, and letters for a wide range of audiences in a range of formats.

Regardless of your background, we would like you to hold a minimum level 4 diploma in Safeguarding although we would be able to support you secure this should you be mid-way through studying or have only completed your level 3 so far.

It would be preferred if you were able to drive and comfortable travelling between out sites; we hybrid work once a week from home, with the other days for you to determine where you need to be.

We are really happy to consider this role on either a full time, (37.5 hours per week) or on a part-time basis (minimum of 20 hours per week) so please do let us know which working pattern would be of most interest to you.
