**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

To assist with the running of NWSLC’s Nuneaton Campus Sports & Fitness Centre, to ensure that the facility is maximising usage throughout the day, evenings and weekends. To be a designated key holder and to open and close the Sports & Fitness Centre as and when required. To assist the Sports Enrichment Team on the delivery of an extensive sports provision at NWSLC, this can be supporting both staff and learners in the college gym as well as leading on fitness-based classes. To continually improve the quality of the provision as measured through key performance indicators and fiscal value for money.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Specific for post**

1. To assist the Sports & Fitness Centre Lead with the day-to-day running of the Sports & Fitness
Centre, including the health & safety and the cleaning/maintenance of equipment and facilities

2. To deliver gym & fitness-based Enrichment sessions appropriate to the age and ability of the participants

3. Drive forward the continuous development of qualitative student experience provision including student engagement and inclusion

4. Contribute towards driving student attendance to ensure positive engagement in all aspects of their college programme

5. Through gym & fitness, develop learners’ understanding of how to keep physically healthy and maintain an active lifestyle

6. To keep up to date registers for all activities and add details to the college’s database (The Box) on a regular basis

7. To ensure that all external bookings complete a lettings policy as an agreement of the facility hire
8. Manage and be accountable for student and member behaviour in the area
9. Ensure the area is operating within set budgets and meeting income targets for the Sports & Fitness

Centre
10. To ensure the Sports & Fitness Centre is marketed in the local area, providing the local community with a facility that is safe and accessible
11. To work appropriate shift patterns which takes in to account the needs of the college and to operate during evenings and weekends
12. To be a designated key holder and to open and close the Sports & Fitness Centre as and when required
13. Undertake industrial and professional development equivalent to 30 hours CPD (pro rata) each academic year
14. Support and promote equality, diversity and inclusion, safeguarding and health and safety
15. Promote and identify commercial opportunities, presenting business cases as appropriate.
16. Support the college safeguarding policies and procedures by maintaining up to date with safeguarding training and supporting the team to safeguard all students at the college
17. To carry out other duties as required and as may be reasonably be expected as commensurate with the grade of the post.

- Taking responsibility for the Health and Safety and undertaking risk assessments as appropriate
