**OBJECTIVE**:To contribute to the efficiency and profitability of the Ambleside Sports Club.

**MAIN DUTIES**

1. Serve & interact with customers ensuring that high standards of customer service are maintained (refer to expectations set out within employee handbook), including:

- Greet & welcome customers in a friendly & professional manner.
- Take customer orders & serve promptly & accurately.
- Prepare alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks & snacks.
- Take cash & card payments (use of computerised tills).
- Customer age verification checks.
- Monitor customer behaviour & ensure responsible alcoholic service.
- Deal with difficult customers when required.
- Take payments for room hire and advise customers on available party / function options.

2. Glass collecting & general tidying up & organisation of bar area.

3. General & deep bar cleaning.

4. Ensure that the function rooms are set up, prepared & ready to meet the specific individual requirements for all planned events. Amongst other things, this includes setting up tables, chairs & other furniture and making sure rooms are clean and tidy, as required.

6. Stock replenishment & stock rotation.

7. Monitor stock and notify your Manager should you notice any upcoming potential shortfalls.

8. Assist with processing and putting away deliveries.

9. Ensure that all doors (inc fire doors) are correctly locked / unlocked at the start and end of each shift.

10. Report to your Direct Line Manager on a regular basis, providing professional updates on any issues or potential problems regarding the execution of your role and the running of the Club’s bars & events.

11. Respond to queries from your Direct Line Manager in a timely fashion.

12. Work within the Club’s rules and procedures and the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005.

13. Work within the Clubs H&S rules & report any issues

14. Record any & all accidents and any near misses in line with Club procedures.

15. Maintain equipment and promptly report any faults.

16. Complete all relevant paperwork relating to the job role.

17. Carry out any other duties as might be reasonably expected of your role as Bar Person (Bar Staff).

**SKILLS**

Previous experience within the hospitality industry preferred.

Excellent levels of customer service

Strong interpersonal skills

Good communication and team player

Numerate and literate

Ability to work unsupervised within a small team

Conscientious, methodical, organised and tidy

Flexible in approach and able to use initiative

Ability to interpret instructions

Proactive and strong time management skills

Ability to deal with changing priorities and tasks

Appropriate level of DBS certification required (this will be paid for by the Club if required)

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £5.28-£10.42 per hour
