London, United Kingdom Penguin Books Limited Full time

Are you creative, organised, curious and a great communicator?

Penguin General is looking for a campaigns executive to join us on a permanent basis, to help plan and implement multi-platform marketing campaigns for an exciting, enviable range of fiction, from literary to crime, and non-fiction, from cookery to history.

We publish some of the very best storytellers and thinkers in the world, spanning literary fiction classics such as John le Carré and Bernardine Evaristo; non-fiction bestsellers including Ben Macintyre and Michelle Obama; and chart-topping fiction writers such as Richard Osman and Dolly Alderton.

**About Penguin General**

Penguin General is one of the eight publishing divisions that make up Penguin Random House UK. There are six imprints at Penguin General: Fig Tree, Hamish Hamilton, Penguin Business, Penguin Life, Viking and Sandycove. The latter is based in Dublin.

General is made up of extremely talented colleagues, who set a high bar in terms of quality of output, who take pride in their work and strive for both individual and collective success. We advocate a ‘learning mindset’: being curious and humble about what we don’t know in order to grow. We strive to create a working culture that is progressive, energizing and fun, where difference is valued. Colleagues are treated with respect, stretched to learn and develop their skills, and can turn up to work as their authentic professional selves.

**The Opportunity**

Your role within our Communications team will be to support across the full list, creating assets and communications to help connect our books with potential readers. On a day-to-day basis, you might be designing and creating book proofs, briefing assets for social posts, or researching book bloggers to reach out to, as well as creating presentations and updates to share campaign activity. You may be executing your own smaller campaigns, or creating seasonal campaigns based on data insights, or strategizing with colleagues on innovative ways to engage with new media trends.

**What You’ll Bring**

You do not need to have any prior publishing experience to be considered for this role, but some marketing experience in a busy communications department using key social media platforms and briefing design content, is preferable. An interest in books across a wide range of genres is a must. With a keen eye for competitor activity, you will be curious, innovative and inclusive in your approach, always looking for ways to reach new readers, whether through partnerships, social media initiatives, bookseller engagement or through impeccable campaign creatives and copy. You’ll have strong communication and presentation skills, building relationships with colleagues, authors and agents, and be a skilled multi-tasker.

**What you can expect from us**

**Salary**: £29,500 - £32,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

**Competitive benefits package**: Our people are the heart of our business, and we work hard to support a culture of responsibility and recognition.

Our benefits include:

- Financial - discounted shopping, season ticket loan, rental deposit loan
- Wellbeing - healthcare cash plan, employee assistance, gym loan
- Lifestyle - taste card, tech scheme, free and discounted books

**Hybrid working**: We work in a hybrid way of working that suits the needs of each team. While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from our London office on Vauxhall Bridge Road, attending key meetings and working as part of the team usually three days per week, with home working on the other days.

**About Penguin**:We’re the UK’s largest publisher; made up of some 2,000 people and publishing over 1,500 books each year. Our doors are open to all kinds of talent. In a constantly evolving industry, we work hard to stretch the definition of the word publisher. Here, you’ll work with a breadth of talent who all play their part to make each of our books a success. Together, we make books for everyone because a book can change anyone.

Please note, we are not able to accept agency CVs for this role. Any CVs sent speculatively will not be eligible for a fee.
