Campaigns Assistant, Ebury

London, United Kingdom Penguin Books Limited Full time

Are you a people person? Can you keep things running smoothly?

We’re looking for a super organised Campaigns Assistant to support our fast-moving campaigns teams, across our Food, Lifestyle and Entertainment (Spotlight) hubs.

**The team**:Ebury is the UK’s largest dedicated non-fiction publisher, home to authors ranging from Yotam Ottolenghi to Molly-Mae Hague to Charlie Mackesy. We are a dynamic and agile team, constantly discovering new talent, creating bestsellers, and growing author brands.

Ebury’s Food Lifestyle and Entertainment hubs publish across cookery, home and interiors, gardening, autobiography and pop culture. Our authors include Anisa Karolia, Mob, Bored of Lunch, Tom Felton, Louise Thompson, Paloma Faith, Stacey Solomon and Will Kirk.

**The opportunity**: You’ll join a dynamic, collaborative and friendly team, assisting in the planning and execution of campaigns, and the varied day-to-day running of a busy department. You’ll ensure that the teams have everything they need to engage readers and drive sales, from preparing for and minuting meetings, travel arrangements, diary management, processing invoices, updating databases that feed through to our suppliers and organising mailouts. You will assist on campaigns where needed, and help out at book events and book launches.

In short, you’ll play a pivotal role in the team.

This is a brilliant first step into campaigns, and the publishing industry. You’ll learn how to deal with press enquiries, run digital ads, and write promotional materials. You’ll build your network and work collaboratively with internal teams such as production, editorial, sales and rights, as well as advertising agencies, influencers and the media.

**What you’ll bring**:You’ll enjoy engaging in the world around you, whether that’s pop culture or cooking a recipe by someone you follow on social media, and you’ll thrive on talking with a huge range of people. We’re also looking for someone with an interest in developing their career in communications, and in learning about different communications tools and best practice - always thinking about how to use these to improve what we do.

You’ll need:

- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills in order to juggle multiple projects at once
- Keen attention to detail
- Confidence in your approach and ability to represent the team in inter-departmental meetings, and to drive and support projects that align with team strategy
- A passion for pop culture, social media and trend-spotting, and a confidence to share opinions and ideas
- Great communications and relationship building skills

**About Penguin**:We’re the UK’s largest publisher; made up of some 2,000 people and publishing over 1,500 books each year. Our doors are open to all kinds of talent. In a constantly evolving industry, we work hard to stretch the definition of the word publisher. Here, you’ll work with a breadth of talent who all play their part to make each of our books a success. Together, we make books for everyone because a book can change anyone.
- We expect interviews to take place from mid-July. Applications without a tailored cover letter will not be accepted._

**Salary**:£27,500 plus bonus and benefits.

**Competitive benefits package**:Our people are the heart of our business, and we work hard to support a culture of responsibility and recognition.

Our benefits include:

- Financial - discounted shopping, season ticket loan, rental deposit loan
- Wellbeing - healthcare cash plan, employee assistance, gym loan
- Lifestyle - taste card, tech scheme, free and discounted books

**Hybrid working**:We’re experimenting with a hybrid way of working that suits the needs of each team.** **While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role, we expect you’ll be in our London office 2 days a week but due to the nature of PR, there will be moments when you’ll need to attend the office more often, and there will be an element of evening and weekend work to fit around authors’ schedules. We will discuss this with you through the recruitment process.

Please note, we are not able to accept agency CVs for this role. Any CVs sent speculatively will not be eligible for a fee.
