Payroll Supervisor

Venn Group are currently recruiting for an interim Senior Payroll Officer in Bedfordshire. This will be offered on a full-time basis for approximately 6 months.
The position supports the delivery of a professional, accurate and timely payroll service and to deputise for the Payroll Manager, advising on all payroll related matters, during periods of absence.,
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration and operation of the payroll system. Ensuring that all payroll processes and procedures are documented and up to date and designing 3rd party reports to enable accurate management information to be produced. Monitoring the effectiveness of the payroll function recommending improvements to the payroll system or the payroll team's working practices for consideration and approval by the Payroll Manager.
- Maintain rate tables to reflect annual pay awards, National Minimum Wage, changes to Fire and Rescue Authority terms and conditions, pension, statutory and voluntary deductions, and ensure they are implemented accurately to enable accurate calculations to be completed. Ensure that year-end and other statutory procedures are completed by publicised deadlines to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Respond to complex queries and give advice to employees, managers, HR, and members. Respond to queries raised by outside bodies such as pension fund administrators, HMRC and other third parties to provide information required in a timely manner.
- With direction from the Payroll Manager calculate and complete, management information and statistical returns as necessary
To be considered for this pivotal role, you will have Significant payroll experience at a supervisory level including leading and experience of dealing with final salary and career average pensions schemes and auto enrolment.
