The Integrated Mental health team provides clinical and psychosocial interventions for prisoners with health needs in HMP Woodhill. The post holder will work as a member of the mental health team and contribute to; delivering high quality, safe and effective Non-Medical Prescribing Services.
Provide local management to support the Clinical Nurse Manager and the Service Manager for nursing staff in accordance with CNWL policies, ensuring that objective setting, personal development plans and appraisals are carried out on a regular basis, that issues of poor performance and sickness absence are addressed, and that staff training needs are identified and plans are drawn up to meet these needs.
Provide nursing care on the units as a member of the wider clinical nurse team including clinical reviews, brief interventions and emergency medical response.
Work in collaboration with the partner organisations and the HM Prison Service (HMPS) to ensure that effective risk management systems are in place.
Demonstrate best practice standards through delivery of high quality clinical services and support other team members in achieving the same.
To work with the clinical services manager in at HMP Woodhill to deliver a range of specialist treatments for patients, which include treatment matching, health education, group work, one to one counselling and the management of self-harm.
To provide teaching and education to staff and patients.
To provide specialist clinical advice and support to other colleagues within the team.

- To contribute to effective management of records, diary appointments, time management and workload prioritisation and ensure that service administration systems are followed.
- To encourage and facilitate the maintenance of accurate and temporaneous documentation by nursing staff and to ensure that the confidentiality of such records is maintained at all times.
- To ensure that all processing of sensitive or confidential information is in line with CNWL policies, Prison service policy and the Data Protection Act.
- To ensure that patient pathways/information on a service database system are carried out on a weekly basis.
- To reply to patient complaints via Prison of directly with CNWL within correct timescales.
