**About us**:
Following on from the expansion of the remit of the Faculty Operation portfolio, a new Product Team has been established, Change and Development. To support the establishment and embedding of the product, and its associated work, a new Product Owner is being sought. It is essential that that the voice of the Faculties is at the heart of the work this product does, so we would like to offer this opportunity to a Department Manager or equivalent. This role will work closely with the Portfolio Owner and will collectively be responsible for ensuring that the Faculty context is understood and considered, priorities are set and benefits of work are realised as widely as possible.

**About the role**:
**_This is an internal secondment role, available to current UCL staff only._**

The Change and Development Product Owner will support the Faculty Operations Change Portfolio to gather the voice of ‘customers’ with the faculties, translate this into change and support the prioritisation of initiatives. This role will engage with key stakeholders across the institution to gather their input and when needed be the link between the product work and the winder institutional priorities. Working closely with colleagues across the portfolio, Change and Improvement and ISD, you will support the delivery of incremental initiatives to release value for the Faculties and UCL as quickly as possible.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Gather the voice of ‘customers’ within Faculties and translate this into requirements for change.
- Create and manage the list of backlog items and ensure they are prioritised, taking into account individual Faculty strategies, as well as the overall UCL strategy.
- Engage with key stakeholders to gather their input when needed and be the link between product work and wider institutional priorities.
- Linked to Faculty and UCL strategies, define the vision for the product and be responsible for the product roadmap.
- Support the Portfolio Lead with financial planning to ensure that there is the required resource within the product to deliver the backlog.
- Work collaboratively with the other Faculty Operations Product Owners to ensure maximum value.
- Be responsible for escalating work to other Change Portfolios when the work is better placed to be delivered via them rather than within the Faculty Operations portfolio.
- Be responsible to ensuring other Change Portfolios are clear about the work being undertaken in the product; and where there is any overlap/dependencies work to manage this effectively.
- Working closely with the portfolio PDM and ADMs to ensure they have the information required for regular reporting.

**Person Specification**

**Qualifications, experience and knowledge**
- Graduate calibre with degree or equivalent level of experience gained in the work environment.
- Experience of working in a UCL Department/Division or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience of working across services and departments to deliver complex project outcomes.
- Good financial management of budgets and reporting.

**Skills and abilities**
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to persuade and influence stakeholders and motivate teams of staff.
- Ability to assimilate information, gather requirements and make quick decisions
- Ability to understand complex customer demands and turn them into easy-to-understand user stories.
- Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
- Skilful at facilitating and enabling group collaboration.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, ensuring a tactful and diplomatic approach and the ability to convey complex information to varying audiences.
- Tenacious and results-driven with sound judgement and a high degree of persistence.
