At this exciting time of growth and development within the chemotherapy service at Northwick Park Hospital, we are looking for an experienced chemotherapy / SACT Nurse who will embrace and support new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient, effective, and patient-focused service.

As the post holder you will practice under the supervision of an advanced practitioner within the Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) service to provide patient-centred clinical care, developing the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. You will develop expertise within the SACT service, providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers. You will contribute to the on-going development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including the development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues. You will act as a specialised role model and leader for all members of staff and play a supportive role in the continuous development of the services within the Trust.
- Work as a practitioner and clinical expert, demonstrating highly specialist knowledge
- Undertakes clinical nursing practice using expert knowledge and clinical skills to deliver holistic care to patients.
- Demonstrates competence in clinical assessment of chemotherapy / SACT patients using agreed tools e.g., CTAEC
- Carry out clinical procedures, e.g., cannulation, blood sampling, n and other procedures relevant to specialty.
- You will order investigations (e.g., blood tests) and interpret results and escalate concerns and abnormalities as appropriate to the SpR/Consultant
- Works as an integrated member of the Multidisciplinary team.
