Associate Director of Quality Governance

Scunthorpe, United Kingdom Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An opportunity has arisen for the role of Associate Director for Quality Governance at Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS FT. The post holder will work closely with the Medical Director to continue the upward trend in assurance on quality and safety in the Trust.

This is a great opportunity which would suit an experienced Governance lead seeking to gain acute Trust experience, or for someone who has covered several areas in Governance to step up to the Associate Director Level.

With learning as the key focus for Quality, this post includes the learning portfolio, with a Learning Manager in the team to help deliver on the Learning Strategy. The post holder will work closely with and steer the divisional triumvirates and governance leads to improve divisional governance.

This is a great opportunity for someone to move the Trust to the forefront of governance excellence, with the systems in place to enable focus on the key quality areas for the future.

Reporting directly to the Medical Director, the postholder will provide advice and support to the Board and its Directors (both Executive & Non-Executive) for oversight and assurance of quality, risk and patient safety across the organisation. Working closely with the Deputy Medical Director, Chief Nurse, Deputy Chief Nurse and Director of Corporate Governance/Trust Secretary, the postholder is responsible for leading development of the strategic direction of the Trust’s approach to quality, risk and patient safety, taking into account national policy and guidance, including the development of strategy and implementation.

The post holder will take a lead role for supporting all Directorates and Clinical Divisions to ensure their clinical and quality governance arrangements are robust and responsive to internal and external objectives and reflect the organisation’s commitment to quality & safety. This incorporates issues of compliance, quality & safety and clinical effectiveness and ensuring that quality governance is seen as the responsibility of all staff, who in discharging their responsibilities are supported by an appropriately skilled and experienced central Quality Governance team.

We’re a large organisation with three hospitals located in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole. We also provide community services in North Lincolnshire. Our 6,500 members of staff care for and support a population of more than 400,000 people.
