We are currently recruiting for a permanent Employee Relation Consultant to work within Higher Education based near Waterloo. Hybrid model, hours 9-5pm Monday - Friday. Salary £40,386 - £43,745 per annum.
- Ensure HR cases are resolved in line with the university's policies and procedures within agreed timescales.
- Carry out investigations, collecting and testing evidence as appropriate.
- Ensuring the comprehensive investigation and hearing outcome reports and other documentation as necessary is completed to high standard, including investigation reports and interviews notes whilst being responsible for generating the associated reportsand letters.
- Contribute towards the development of good practice in relation to case management, conflict resolution and mediation.
- Liaising with specialist legal counsel as appropriate.
- Managing, coordinating and participating in employment tribunals and associated legal fora.
- They will undertake investigations and interviews and be responsible for generating the associated reports and letters.
- Act as a full panel member at hearings and on occasion chair such meetings when required. Liaise/negotiate with trade unions, legal representatives, other employee representatives and outside agencies.

**Essential**
- To have up to date knowledge of employment law and employment practice and a sound judgement in HR and Employee Relations matters.
- To have excellent influencing and negotiation skills coupled with experience of building good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
- The ability to act with a substantial degree of independent professional responsibility and discretion and being able to represent and promote the HR team.
- To have experience of the management of multiple types of case work management and advising managers on a full range of employee relations issues.
- To have a demonstrable track record of HR and Employee Relations delivery in a large complex organisation.
- To have demonstrable ability in coaching, briefing and training to large and small groups and one to one on Employee Relations and HR issues.
- To be resourceful and comfortable with ambiguity regarding complex and not straightforward casework issue.
