We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and motivated person to join the Administrative Support Team for CAMHS, this service provides an enhanced Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Service. We support the clinical teams to deliver enhanced psychiatric and psychological help for young people aged from 13 to 18, who need inpatient care.

We are a 22 bedded hospital comprising of 16 beds on a general ward and six that are dedicated to a new Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). We are seeking a Receptionist/Administrator to work in our busy yet exciting Children and Young People’s Services team.

The post is to cover reception whilst also supporting the team with varying aspects of administration.

The post will be extremely varied and challenging at times but is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, well organised and conscientious person. The role involves many aspects primarily focused around providing efficient and effective clerical and administration service to the clinical staff under the direction of the Team Coordinator.

This post which is based on reception will include regular telephone and face to face contact with service users, their carers’ and regular contact with other departments within the Trust and with other agencies.

The post will require an element of flexibility by the successful applicant in regard to covering for other members of the administration team where required.

The job holder will have regular telephone and face to face contact with service users and regular contact with other departments within the Trust and with other agencies.
The job holder will deal with telephone and personal enquiries from members of the public, GPs and other healthcare professionals. Provide non-clinical information and advice to patients and relatives within the boundaries of the role.
The job holder will take accurate messages for staff.
The job holder will participate in making appointments, arranging meetings (face to face and video conferencing) as required.
The job holder will be involved in arranging appointments and booking of transport as and when required as requested by members of the medical and clinical teams, where appropriate and in line with Trust Policy.
The job holder will be required to meet NHS standards for confidentiality and information sharing.
The job holder will be expected to have knowledge of general office duties (electronic and manual filing systems, faxing, photocopying etc.).
The job holder will be expected to have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook and Knowledge of other MS Office software is desirable.
The job holder will be expected to understand the responsibilities of working with confidential information.
The job holder will need to demonstrate attention to detail.
The job holder will need to have good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
The job holder will have the ability to accept direction from the Team Coordinator who will plan and organise the workload, which will include simple, straightforward and occasionally slightly more complex tasks and to have the ability to prioritise work with direction from the Team Coordinator.
