Major are recruiting on behalf of their client for a Merchandiser based in the Huddersfield area. As a skilled Merchandiser, you will be responsible for import of their home Textile products and market leading brands. You will ensure stock levels are managed accurately and work well with their team of suppliers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Using different techniques to forecast and plan sales accurately.
- Analysing sales data, interpret, and summarise to clearly articulate recommendations that aid key commercial decisions.
- Own a group of suppliers and manage ordering stock in line with stock targets.
- Liaise with suppliers and shipping companies and secure best shipping options, also to liaise with agents to clear containers and move them from port to warehouse.
- Own a group of customers and manage their merchandising side including stock update, selections and estimates, promotions etc
- Clearance, promotions and markdown plans to ensure healthy sales and stock turnover.
- Stock analysis to drive stock health actions.
- Working closely with the warehouse team to plan and manage stock takes, stock control and cyclical counts.
- Maintaining a productive relationship between merchandising and other departments in the business.
- Constantly review existing processes to drive positive change and ways of working.

**Essential**:

- A strong knowledge of merchandising.
- Ability to think strategically, analyse data and make decisions.
- Good knowledge of the retail sector.
- Experience of working with external suppliers.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, confident with Excel - Including the use of V-Lookup and Pivot.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience in manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of shipping line and container deliveries.
- Previous experience of using OrderWise.

**Salary**:
£24,000 - £28,500 DOE

**Salary**: £8.10-£11.89 per hour
