This type of Merchandise department is quite often regarded as the commercial heart of a business though. Based at Head Office, a Merchandise department will make a number of commercial & analytical recommendations & decisions.

**A Merchandise department will**:
**Produce weekly & monthly trade analysis reports to the business on key product categories including the weekly sales & stock intakes (WSSI)

**Identify supply & demand strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats, as well as sales & profitability.

**Work closely with our Hong Kong office, global manufacturing & supplier partners to understand & forecast supply flow, timings, scenarios & solutions.

**Work closely with our stores, online, marketing, finance, & our UK & International sales teams to limit overstock, or understock scenarios, & in creating cost effective solutions where needed.

Basically, making sure the business commercially maximises profitability from analysing & forecasting supply & demand.

**Role of Trainee Merchandiser.**
So as part of global multichannel Merchandise department, your role as a Trainee Merchandiser is to support the team in accomplishing the above. This is a foundation level role within the team and department, so plenty of admin involved (checking data is correct from spreadsheets and highlighting any differences) but a role where we can build on those foundations, giving you that development, experience, exposure and insight to help build a career within the incredible world of global multichannel merchandising.

**This is an unbelievable opportunity for someone wanting to take that initial step into a “business” role. Ideal for someone who loves unearthing the mysteries of a good excel spreadsheet or two. Someone who is solutions minded, a strong communicator, amazing attention to detail, and wants to learn.**

Note: this role will be based 3 days a week at our Head Office on the outskirts of Huddersfield, 2 days working from home.
