**So what’s a Trainee Merchandiser? No, that’s visual merchandising, but don’t worry, everyone says that.**

This type of Merchandise department is quite often regarded as the commercial heart of a business. Based at our Huddersfield Global Head Office, our Merchandise department will make a number of commercially analytical recommendations & decisions.

**A Merchandise department will**:
**Produce weekly & monthly trade analysis reports to the business on key product categories including the "weekly sales & stock intakes" (WSSI)

**Identify supply & demand strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats, as well as sales & profitability.

**Work closely with our Hong Kong office, global manufacturing & supplier partners to understand & forecast supply flow, timings, scenarios & solutions.

**Work closely with our stores, online, marketing, finance, & our UK & International sales teams to limit overstock, or understock scenarios, & in creating cost effective solutions where needed.

Basically, making sure the business commercially maximises profitability from analysing & forecasting supply & demand.

So as part of global multichannel Merchandise department, your role as a Trainee Merchandiser is to support the team in accomplishing the above.
