Our client are a family owned têxtile manufacturing company who specialise in producing flooring products.

They are the only company of their kind in the UK and have been operating since 1954.

They are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Merchandiser to join their home têxtiles company. As a skilled merchandiser, you will be responsible for an area of our import rug collection for our home têxtile products and market leading brands, ensuring our stock levels are managed accurately, whilst working well with our team and suppliers. Your role will involve working closely with our friendly merchandising and buying team in our newly refurbished office at our Huddersfield mill.

This is the perfect role for an assistant merchandiser or junior merchandiser to take a step up I their career.

**Essential**:

- A strong knowledge of merchandising.
- At least 2 years Merchandising experience
- Ability to think strategically, analyse data and make decisions.
- Sound knowledge of the retail sector.
- Experience of working with external suppliers.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, confident with Excel - Including the use of V-Lookup and Pivot.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Educated to degree level.

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience in manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of shipping line and container deliveries.
- Previous experience of using OrderWise.

**Responsibilities**:

- Using different techniques to forecast and plan sales accurately.
- Analysing sales data, interpret, and summarise to clearly articulate recommendations that aid key commercial decisions.
- Own a group of suppliers and manage ordering stock in line with stock targets.
- Liaise with suppliers and shipping companies and secure best shipping options, also to liaise with agents to clear containers and move them from port to warehouse.
- Own a group of customers and manage their merchandising side including stock update, selections and estimates, promotions etc
- Clearance, promotions, and markdown plans to ensure healthy sales and stock turnover.
- Stock analysis to drive stock health actions.
- Working closely with our warehouse team to plan and manage stock takes, stock control and cyclical counts.
- Maintaining a productive relationship between merchandising and other departments in the business.
- Constantly review existing processes to drive positive change and ways of working.
