**Metered Customer Service Advisor - South Yorkshire**

**Salary**:£21,491 to £26,863 dependent on experience + Company Pension + Company Van + 25 days holiday +bank Holidays

**Location**: Sheffield

**What will the role involve?**

As our **Metered Customer Service Advisor,** you will ensure domestic and commercial water meters are read accurately and in a timely manner, providing immediate resolution of any metering issues, wherever practicable, whilst ensuring the deliveryof excellent customer service.

In addition, our **Metered Customer Service Advisor** will:

- Take personal responsibility for yourself and others with respect to health and safety, risk management and control of work, to ensure compliance with the YW Safety Policy
- Take ownership of the allocated meter reading area to ensure delivery of excellent customer service, in line with our Company vision
- Visit customer premises, e.g. homes, factories, schools etc. on a cyclical basis to record water meter readings, ensuring all meter reading targets are met through individual time management and effective use of contractual flexible working procedures andhours of work
- Carry out 'must be reads’ as issued in order to ensure DG8 compliance and ensure regular maintenance of meter reading rounds and location notes to agreed standards
- Carry out void inspections when scheduled as well as ad hoc meter readings as required, e.g. checks and final reads
- Identify and replace damaged meters where possible, in line with trained level of capability
- Identify street furniture defects and undertake remedial action as appropriate
- Provide basic advice and information for customers in relation to water supply and billing
- Carry out basic investigation into high and low consumption and take appropriate action
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and adherence to accident management procedures, take responsibility for the correct and safe usage of all equipment provided
- Act as a front-line representative of Yorkshire Water, ensuring that vehicles, corporate clothing and equipment are maintained appropriately, and Company values and behaviours are demonstrated during all activities

**What key skills are required?**

**Essential**:

- Experience of Health and Safety management processes and systems
- Developing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships
- Technical understanding of WTW production processes
- Analytical and fault diagnosis of water treatment processes
- Experience of delivering continual improvement in a process / production environment
- Experience in incident management and asset failure recovery
- Sound Influencing and negotiation skills
- Rigorous attention to detail to ensure 'right first time’ performance
- Proficient In the use of IT

You must also hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
