Soft Services Waste Auditor

CHP is the Head Tenant of 305 community health centres across England, ranging from small Primary Care centres housing one or two GP practices to large community hospitals, which bring together a diverse range of community and primary healthcare services, alongside related local authority, and voluntary sector service provisions. The vision of these sites is that they operate as integrated community hubs, as ‘catalysts for health & wellbeing’ at the heart of their local community, providing services that meet health needs and supporting local people to improve their own health and wellbeing and that of their community. Centre management within CHP is critical to the delivery of this vision.
As Waste Auditor you'll conduct meticulous pre-acceptance audits of healthcare waste generated by our tenants. Following our company process and adhering to legal requirements, you'll assess waste segregation practices, packaging, and compliance. You'll play a crucial role in promoting sustainable waste management practices and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
To support the contracts management team by carrying out audits. You will be expected to liaise with the wider teams and communicate actions as and when required.
To undertake multiple audits across a number waste streams, completing reports and providing resolutions and management plans for the soft services across a large portfolio of mainly Primary Care sites nationally.
To support audits and quality improvement activity, to ensure collection, completion, and accuracy of audit data and complete in a timely manner using a variety of data collection methods.
- Responsible for undertaking healthcare waste customer pre-acceptance audits and producing reports in accordance with legal requirements, following CHP waste management policy & process. Keen attention to detail and adherence to guidelines to ensure effective waste management practices and compliance.
- Review third-party healthcare waste customer pre-acceptance audits in accordance with legal requirements, following CHP process, and report on findings.
- Provide advice, training, and waste technical assessments to healthcare waste customers, supporting waste segregation best practice in waste management and compliance.
- Responsible for conducting audits of healthcare waste customer waste at CHP facilities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Report compliance to the operational team and present findings to customers when requested.
- Conduct duty of care audits at disposal vendor sites to ensure CHP compliance with duty of care regulations. Ensuring CHP’s commitment to compliance and sustainability.
- Support the administration of the waste pre-acceptance process, ensuring smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
- Verifies assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation.
- Completes audit workpapers by documenting audit tests and findings.
- Maintain internal systems by updating audit programs and audit paperwork.
- Communicate audit findings by preparing a final report, discussing findings with Contracts Team.
- To support the Facilities Contracts Manager and update the contract management team on audits, findings and provide recommendations.
- To carry out and complete audit spreadsheets and update trackers. Providing daily and weekly updates as required.
- Support existing and new and appropriate data capture with attention to detail across a range of soft services.
- Assist and support toward improvement methods in line with contractual services.
- Ability to liaise with the site teams and Contract Managers accordingly and to organise and attend planned site visits.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the audit registers, facilitating meetings and repeat visits.
- Monitor data quality ensuring accuracy and consistency and analyse and report on failures accordingly. Communicate and align audit times and dates with site teams and contractors across a wide geographical area.

- The ability to work independently and to communicate with site teams providing advice, assistance and support where needed across a large geographical area.
- Ability to maintain excellent time management showing drive, resourcefulness, and enthusiasm.
- Flexibility to work at multiple locations and working hours.
- Strong organisational, documentation and coordination skills for delivery of effective waste
