JPMorgan Chase & Co. has expanded its consumer business by launching a new digital bank in the UK called Chase UK. We are working to build a best-in-class Financial Crime (FinCrime) Operations function in Edinburgh as we embark on this exciting chapter in the continued growth of our UK business.

Part of FinCrime Operations, the Financial Crime Operations Investigations (FCOI) is primarily responsible for investigating unusual transactional activity where fraud is identified as the primary activity or predicate offense, to create a vehicle for the proceeds of crime or questionable activity and filing a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) with the National Crime Agency (NCA) where required. FCOI works in close partnership with Fraud Risk, Global Financial Crime Compliance, Global Security and Investigations and Cyber Security to ensure fraud and financial crime risks are detected, investigated and mitigated

Reporting to the Head of FCOI/Senior Management, the FCOI investigations Divisional Lead will have oversight of Investigators, investigations, triage function and investigators; ensuring any identified Financial Crime Risks are mitigated and proper filings are completed in a timely manner. Responsibilities for this role include managing investigations pipeline while ensuring cases meet or exceed closure and quality metrics, reporting facts of significant investigations to line of business to assist in identifying potential operational or compliance risks, and ensuring Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) are completed in a timely and accurate manner for submission to regulators and/or law enforcement. The Divisional Lead will provide support to the Team and to Senior management, dealing with any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage investigation pipeline and prioritization of work
- Ensure timely escalation of key risks/issues to management
- Gather evidence from publics and internal sources, analyze information to identify patterns, anomalies and "red flags" and document findings relevant to reports of known or suspected fraudulent activity to identify patterns, anomalies and "red flags"
- Create and manage comprehensive investigation case files for investigations that document the decision making process and contain all applicable supporting documentation.
- Draft accurate and concise SAR reports
- Case management including updating, and maintaining databases and tracking sheets chronicling open investigations, updates, and next steps; labeling and storing documents, data, and other materials obtained during investigations; and scheduling and planning interviews/client outreach etc.

- Ensuring the investigation function runs efficiently day to day
- Ensuring investigators are appropriately skilled, trained & qualified to perform their role
- Oversight of investigations workload
- Responsible for Investigators
- Oversight of workload & ensuring SLA's are met
- Manages Financial Crime/Fraud and operational risks, provide timely and achievable actions plans in mitigating identified risks and resolve capacity or volume issues
- Work closely with Head Of FCOI/Senior Management to ensure robust forecasting and contingency planning is in place to ensure continuity of operations and appropriate resource allocation to meet demand.
- Provide regular reporting on operational effectiveness and efficiency
- Provide SME support for referring parties, supporting SAR filing decisions and establishing strong feedback loop with Quality Checking
- Extensive experience in financial crime/fraud sector - previous retail experience a bonus
- Experience managing a team
- Experience in collating and reporting management information
- Knowledge and understanding of financial crime legislation/regulations i.e. POCA 2002, UK Bribery Act 2010 and counter terrorist financing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and research skills, detail oriented
- Strong time management skills, self-directing and capable of dealing with high pressure, time sensitive tasks
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
- Collaborating with our Risk community to implement a robust and sustainable control framework and operating model
- Providing technical advice and support in relation to suspicious activity, research tasks and fulfilling specific reporting requirements
- The ability to manage, engage and influence senior stakeholders
